WATERLOO, NY -- A lot of emphasis has been put on individual prizes leading up to SM Derby Duplicates' Harvest Havoc 2010, presented by MGM Slider Drive Shafts and Derby Products. But, Harvest Havoc is a team show... so what about the teams?
Well, they count too.
Each member of the winning team will take home a 'driver' car. A set of (1:24 scale model) 1964 Impalas were saved from the 'crusher' in a 'local scrap yard.' These cars will be sent with engines, stock bumpers, and stock wheels/tires to each of the winners.
If the winning team consists of one person (meaning one person submitted each of the three cars), they will get one car. It the winning team is a two-person effort, two cars will be awarded. If it is a three-man project, each member gets a car.
If three cars are NOT awarded, they will be distributed to other finishers as selected by the event promoters.
The plan for scoring is as follows: after each car is scored individually, the solo scores of each team member will be compiled to generate the team scores.
The overall highest cumulative score will determine the team winner.
The MGM Derby Products Harvest Havoc team event will consist of three cars, built by one, two or three artists and can be of any make, model or year (provided they fit the full-size bill). Other classes include Enduros, Presented by Insane Racing; the DerbyTees.com Compacts and Outlaw Trucks, Presented by High Dollar Motorsports.
Images of cars will be due by 11:59 pm September 30. Results are expected to be complete by October 2-3. Two New York-based derby drivers have been tabbed to help judge, results coincides with their availability.
The hunt for sponsors continues, and announcements regarding sponsors, partners, rules and classes will be made in the coming weeks.
