WATERLOO, NY -- Taking a page from Osage City Demolition Derby in Kansas, Insane Racing will be offering a car to the winner of one of the Harvest Havoc Events.
Insane Racing will provide an ASA/ARCA style enduro car to the winner of the Enduro Event at Harvest Havoc.
Osage City gave away several cars during their derby on July 10, and SM Derby Duplicates was one of the Osage City event sponsors.
The car will be a complete stock car.
"We kicked around a lot of ideas," said Shay Sane of Insane Racing. "We thought about raffling the car off, but we couldn't get a real concrete way of doing it.
"Then, we came up with the idea of giving the prize out for the enduro guys. Seemed like a good fit to me."
SMDD will be giving away 'scrap yard drivers' to the winning members of the team derby, meaning four cars will be given away during Harvest Havoc 2010.
The MGM Derby Products Harvest Havoc team event will consist of three cars, built by one, two or three artists and can be of any make, model or year (provided they fit the full-size bill). Other classes include Enduros, Presented by Insane Racing; the DerbyTees.com Compacts and Outlaw Trucks, Presented by High Dollar Motorsports.
The plan for scoring full size teams is as follows: after each car is scored individually, the solo scores of each team member will be compiled to generate the team scores.
The overall highest cumulative score will determine the team winners.
Images of cars will be due by 11:59 pm September 30. Results are expected to be complete by October 2-3. Two New York-based derby drivers have been tabbed to help judge, results coincides with their availability.
The hunt for sponsors continues, and announcements regarding sponsors, partners, rules and classes will be made in the coming weeks.
